Unique Guest Books

Here's another great idea. In lieu of the traditional guest book our bride this weekend had purchased a coffee table book of Bermuda (their destination honeymoon site) for their guest to sign. It was filled with beautiful pictures of Bermuda and had lots of space for sentiments from their friends and families. I thought it was an outstanding idea and I heard lots of the guest comment favorably as well.
Additional ideas would be using a book feauturing the local of your reception e.g. Keeneland, Churchill Downs, etc.
or even less specifically a photo book highlighting the best of the city in which you are being wed e.g. Lexington, Louisville, Gravel Switch (not sure if they make one), etc...

Design your own Bridesmaid Dress

I absolutely adored that toy! Check out the virtual bridesmaid dress I designed. Not bad, huh? I just can't get enough of the orange hues right now! Vows-Write On!

To really pump up the emotional factor of your ceremony, try writing your own vows. When the officiant says "the couple have chosen to write their own vows" you can feel the anticipation from the guest, as they wait with bated breath, to hear the words the couple have so carefully chosen for each other. The vows are the pinnacle of the ceremony, that goes without saying, writing them yourself makes it all the more special.
Here's a little clip of a ceremony we filmed at Keeneland last year. The couple "Kristin & Matt" were such a lovely couple. Their vows were- simply put- an outpouring of their souls. Absolutely beautiful!

July 7, 2007 without a doubt has been the most requested wedding date for the year. I thought perhaps all the calls I had been receiving about that date were a fluke, and then I stumbled upon this article. Apparently the rage over 7/7/7 is universal. It makes since, if ever there were a night you should be guaranteed to get lucky, wouldn't it be your wedding night??
This date is one I'm looking especially forward to because I'm going to be filming the wedding of a girl (Elizabeth Mattingly) from my hometown (lebanon, ky). She's the kind of girl that just makes you smile! She is a geniune sweetie & her fiance (Rick Burrice) is so smitten with her. I'm sure the on-camera chemistry is going to be (& at the risk of revealing my obsession with Grease) electrifying!

Bridal Tape

O.K. ladies, this is a must have product! This clear double sided body tape will save your life (or most likely one of your maids) on your big day. I love this stuff!! It's great for wayward straps or gaping blouses. Be sure to include this in your wedding day arsenal. You'll thank me! My husband and I are headed out for a day of televison shopping. We just finished a complete makeover in our bedroom and are ready to streamline it with a flat screen tv. I'm armed with my notepad and pencil, ready for some serious comperative shopping.

Flip Flops

How cute would these be for a shower gift? Put together a little honeymoon basket for the couple & they're sure to make an impression on their honeymoon as they walk together in the sand. I wish I'd seen these before my niece got married in Cabo.

My son called me from his school to tell me they were getting out early, due to potential snow. He was so pumped! It looks like he may be out the rest of the week. Can you believe how frigid it is outside? My electric bill is going to be insane this month, Ugh!

Cover Couple

I really dig this! One of my couples for 2006 "Natalie Marshall & Jimmy Franklin" are on the cover of Home & Family Magazine (Southern Kentucky Edition). The magazine followed the couple through the year as they planned their nuptials. Here's one of my favorite excerpts "Natlie has a copy of the video on her computer at work and is more than happy to share this special day with guests." I think they should have worded it "MOORE than happy", but I take what I can get, LOL! Good Luck Natalie & Jimmy!!

Bridal Show

Hey Girls! Anyone planning on going to the Bridal Show on January 14? It's a fun way to get pumped up about planning your wedding. I'm not having a booth there, but I love to go and check out all the cool new ideas for 2007! Michellle Landers (super nice lady) from Bridal Potpourri is putting the show on.
