This image is of Grant on the front sidewalk of our house. He was outside alone & didn't even know anyone was watching him. So enthralled with the overnight blanketing of snow, he dropped his snow board & just buried his little legs in it. I watched as he just laid there, soaking it all in. Life is so busy now. I miss those moments. The next time something happens in my life that I've been hoping for, I'm not gonna just enjoy it, but flat out burry myself in it! Wallow around, soaking in every last detail!

Day 29-"Bar Time"
I took these photos on date night with my husband. I surreptitiously captured the first photo in Drake's (the little bar connected to Malone's) as we waited for our table. The music was lively. The glow from the bar warm & toasty. I must admit as I watched all of the people (putting on their best game) I felt a tinge of melancholy for days gone by. Tonight was the first time I'd applied (do they even say applied anyomore?) lipstick in God knows when & shaved (Did I shave my legs?)... Oh forget it. Tonight was the first time I'd somewhat pulled myself together in quite a while. I looked at my husband wistfully wondering what he was thinking. Was he too, thinking of his youth? Recalling on days of feeling like Jack in the Regal Beagle, Unbeknownst to himself only, that his every move was screaming Larry Dallas. Our pager flashed & we were seated in Malone's- a booth near the bar. The food was delicious, service excellent, but I could not take my eyes off of this older gentleman. It made me so sad to watch him sit there looking so lonely. Eating dinner solo at a bar on a Friday night. Throughout our meal people would accompany the seats beside him. He would strike up a conversation with them. Random things about the weather or tomorrow's game & then with the flash of a pager, they would exit his life just as quickly as they came into it. These photos are grainy, blurry & the exposure isn't right, but the stark contrast of the feeling of the images shot within feet of each other really speaks to me. It reminds me of how lucky I am to not have to worry about "applying" lipstick daily **SNORTS**. Image 29 "Bar Time" Is just what this Chrissy Snow needed to be reminded of her blessings.
Day 28-"Movin' On Up!"
So I had some business to take care of downtown this afternoon & remembered this fabulous vintage signage & had to capitalize on my outing & capture an image of it. Broadway is not a fun place to be around 5ish, so this took me way longer than I'd anticipated. Bloody murder, I say, but the sky was brilliant making for a spot on exposure. Totally worth it. So in Jefferson's Cleaners style, I'm calling todays image-"Movin' On Up!" I may just have to make a print of this for my laundry room. Anyone familiar with this out-of-business store front? Common sense tells me it is a defunct laundry mat, but common sense has failed me before, so please enlighten me if you know otherwise. 
Day 27-"Warhol Soup"
Desperation set in tonight as I frantically tried to think of something interesting to photograph. As I paced around the kitchen I thought "What am I gonna photograph? Food?" Then it hit me. Soup! Andy Warhol style! I gave the lazy susan a spin & couldn't find any plain soup like the ones he used in his rockin' pop art paintings. Nothing but stars and OO's in this house. With all that being said, I'm dedicating tonights photo to the memory of one of my faves! Andy Warhol- Soup 21st Century Style:)
Day 26-"Balance"
Balance is something I really need to work on in my life right now. So many things I want to do. Twice as many that I "need" to do. Maybe I'll make that my Feb goal. Feb or March maybe.
Day 25-"Hopeless Corners"
First of all, I would never have dreamed of posting this image if the woman's face were visible. This could be a totally innocent picture & just a random coincidence, but the irony of the sign looming above this young lady standing out on a cold street corner looked like something out of a newspaper & the photographer in me, just couldn't deny this opportunity. Regardless of the reality of this particular shot. 
The facts are that lots of wayward women right here in our community are victims of this kind of lifestyle. Victims I say, because I don't believe any little girl grows up dreaming of living a life on the streets. These are women just like you and me. They are someone's daughter, mother, sister, &/or friend. If you want to bless YOURSELF more than you can possibly imagine, consider volunteering your time or resources to one of the programs designed to help these women. The Hope Center in Lexington has an Addiction Recovery Program for women with a highly successful recovery rate. I took a look at their donation page & their needs include things like Coats, Gloves, Blankets, etc...I know I have at least one extra coat that I don't wear anymore. I'm going through my stuff tonight & God Willing making a trip down there to drop some stuff off tomorrow. Won't you join me? The weather is getting ready to get really cold again. Clean out that closet. "Bless with the Mess!"

Day 24-"Future Soldier"
My son Grant is absolutely obsessed with soldiers. As a mother I must admit, the thought of him being in the military one day scares me, but like all the other ones before, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I'm just trying not to stifle his creativity & let him continue to build his little "battles". It's hard though, because they are everywhere! They're sharp little boogers to step on when getting up for a glass of milk in the middle of the night. Hot bubble baths are often Forest Gump Style, "Ya never know what you're gonna get!" Can't tell you the times, I've without thinking plopped down to relax & had my "buttocks" or something more sacred lacerated by one of his little troopers. My image of the day is the view from my bathroom into our hallway. So literally, In one room we have a man on the hole & a view reminiscent of the soldiers raising the flag on Iwo Jima right outside the door. I told Grant they better start retreating or I'm gonna smite them!
Day 23-"Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut, Sometimes You don't!"
Sometimes the pictures just find you. Today was one of those days. Even my yard squirrel knows better than to sit around and wait on a nut too long. 
Day 22-"Stained-Glass Windows"
Slowly driving by this church tonight, the lights from my car catching each pane of glass bringing to life a kaleidoscope of color. Total brilliance in stark contrast with the gloomy weather. I had no choice but to stop and capture an image. For all I know they could be slaughtering goats inside, but from my view on the street it was a welcoming glow & the following quote quickly came to mind...

Day 21-"Brandi"
Had a nice little dinner party tonight. Thanks to my friend Scott for bringing over a studio light for me to test. My cousin Brandi was a trooper for posing in the Hotseat. Really, It's retro fab. It Glides, It Vibrates, & It's Heated. Hence, the term Hotseat.
