While I'm sure this is not gonna be my "magnum opus", I do see a lot of jaded symbolism in this random shot of Grant's Valentine's stash-brought home from school today. First of all, the "love lasts" heart clearly stands out. Next, the gnarly purple heart behind it that seems to have been chewed up & spit out-by love perhaps? The little orange heart to the left seems to be holding on for dear life, with "true love" appearing to be slipping away. Lastly, If you look in the background you will see a blurred out image of a skeleton-one of Grant's Valentine Cards.
"We always believe our first love is our last, and our last love is out first."Quote-Unknown
I'm not kidding you, I have some kind of gift for thrift. If it were a sport, my picture would be on a box of Wheaties right now! My Grandmother Hodgen started training me at an early age. It's insane the damage I can do with less than 5 bucks. I can literally almost fill the trunk of my car with it. I have some kind of sixth sense with the whole thing too. My guardian angel must love a bargain too, because I "just know", for instance, & my sister Missy can vouch that this is indeed the truth. Two days ago, I spotted this rockin' Dora Pool Deck at a local consignment shop. I knew I hadn't seen many of these on the 2nd hand market, so I thigh mastered the pool securely, so I could pull out the old iphone & do a quick search-a-roo. My instinct was to shout "IN YOUR FACE" to Missy browsing the shoe bin, but memory served me well & I opted not to go that route. My hair might not grow back as quickly as it used to. The pool was for her daughters anyway & I was paying, so in reality, it was sort of "IN MY FACE". Alas, the thrill of the kill wouldn't be so sweet if I didn't dig out the 3 bucks, so whatevs, I stimiluated society that night. Then two days later, tonight, I'm Hobby Lobbying & with no advanced warning, my car starts moving towards the Goodwill. I could make this "all dramatic", but I'll just go ahead and say it...as soon as I walked in the door, bamn! You Casa is Me Casa!! The Dora Pool Deck would now have a House! At a mere 3 dollars & fitty cent, Shut the heck up Boots! This house even has a working set of batteries. The only negative of this story is- in my excitement- I didn't put on gloves before scrubbing the house down & now the bleach has left my skin all scratchy. Anyhoo, that's day 42. Can you dig it? I love these two images. Grant was really diggin' the dollhouse, pushing all the buttons & stuff until he realized he was being photographed. Look at the startled look on his face, LOL! He said "I'm not playing with it!". Sure you're not honey. I don't need the map to tell me Dora's not the only explorer in this house:)
